2-3 lbs. ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1-1/2 c. finely chopped celery
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 14.5-oz. can diced fire roasted tomatoes
1 c. chili sauce
1/2 c. ketchup
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
2 T. prepared mustard
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 T. dry mustard
1 T. medium chili powder
1 T. cumin
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste
additional salt, to taste


In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef and onion together until beef is cooked. Add all remaining ingredients and stir well. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. Serve on buns - If you have the time and initiative, butter the buns and toast on a a toaster oven ;)
