Home made Moon Sand

Ingredients
4 cups play sand
2 cups corn starch
1 cup water
2 tbsp colored powder paint
glitter

Directions
1. Mix the sand and cornflour in a large bowl until combined. Then tip in the water in increments, mixing it in as you go along. By the end it should be well combined and the consistency is like a crumbly pastry mix. If it doesn’t hold together when formed in a ball then add a tiny bit more water until it feels right. It should not be wet, but feel slightly damp.
2. When this is achieved then stir through the colors, using as many as you like. You will need to use your fingers to thoroughly mix the colors, like making breadcrumbs or pastry.

Homemade Scented Play dough

Homemade Scented Play Dough
* My son loved helping me make this as much as he loved playing with it!

What You'll Need:

• 1 cup flour
• 1 cup water
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup salt
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 2 0.13-ounce packets powdered drink mix

Directions:

1. Measure out then add the ingredients to a saucepan and stir together over medium-high heat. Continue stirring for another two to three minutes while the dough comes together.
2. Once the dough pulls together into one big ball, turn off the heat and allow the scented play dough to cool in the pan for five minutes.
3. Turn the dough out onto a flour-dusted work surface and knead for one minute or until completely cool. Add additional flour as needed.
4. Offer the scented play dough to your tot and get squishing! When it's not in use, keep the play dough in a plastic bag or container. This dough will stay soft and playable for months if properly stored.

*Time for an Easy & Adorable Craft*

What you need:

Mason Jars

Teacup lights

Elmer's glue ( you could also use Modge Podge)

Water

Paint Brush ( One that will fit inside the Mason Jar)

Glitter

Directions:

1.Mix Water and Glue together and brush the inside of your mason jar. ( you will want to add

enough water to just thin out the glue so that it is spreadable)

2. Add glitter of your choice to the inside of jar. Roll and spin jar around until the glitter

coats the sides.

3. Let it dry. Once Dried add a tea light and that's it!

Materials.

Plain Colored Mug.

DecoArt Glass Paint Markers

Masking tape (optional if you want to tape off your design first)

Instructions.

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Use your markers, to draw your design on your mug.

3. Place in oven for 20 minutes.

4. Let it Cool and Admirer it :)

* It's better to hand wash your mug to keep your design looking it's best.

DIY Red, White, and Blue Citronella Candles.

What you will need:

Canning Jars

Wax (you can buy this in a block or shredded)

Red, and Blue Crayons.

Wicks

Hot Glue Gun

Pencil or chopstick

Citronella Oil

Instructions:

1.) Heat up your hot glue gun (make sure you have something

under to to prevent dripping)

2.) Line up your canning jars, and place a little glue to the bottom

of your wick. Make sure you add enough so that it will stick. Place

your wick in the middle of your canning jar. I like to take an pencil and

use the eraser part to push it down until it sticks.

3.) When wicks are in place, place jars in your oven on your

lowest heat setting. This will help even out your wax and prevent any cracking

in your glass.

4.) While glasses are in oven. Melt your wax by boiling water on the stove,

place a heat safe bowl on top of the boiling water pan and melt. (This is

also great for melting chocolate, prevents burning and melts more evenly)

Add your Citronella Oil, place 3 drops per cup of wax.

5.) If desired, use crayons (red & Blue) to add to your wax, Remember to use

enough because the color will be duller when dry.) For this project, Melt your wax in

batches for individual colors. Don't add any crayons to the white wax.

6.) Take jars out of oven, and add your melted wax. Place your pencil or 

chopstick across the top of the jars to stabilize the wicks in the middle of the wax

until wax hardens.

Cut the wick to about 1/2 inch above the wax and Voila!

Do you have broken pieces of crayons laying around? Well if you do, now you have a way to reuse them.

What you need:

-Crayons, broken up into pieces and unwrapped from papers.

- Muffin pan with cupcake liners

Instructions

-Take the pieces of crayon and unwrap the paper from them.

- Use a muffin pan with cupcake papers in it.

-Take the paper free crayon pieces and place them in the liners in the pan (scatter the colors to create an array of colors)

- Turn on your oven and bake for 7-10 minutes until melts completely.

- Let these cool or their own or place in freezer until hardened. Take out of liners and have fun coloring!

Kids: Ice Cream in a Bag.

Ice Cream in a Bag

What you need:

2 Sandwich Baggies

2 gallon sized Baggies

1/2 cup milk

1 Tablespoon Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1/2 cup rock salt

Ice.

You can also grab a pair of gloves for the kiddos.

Instructions

Pour 1/2 cup milk into one of the smaller bags.

Add the sugar and Vanilla Extract.

Get all air out of the bag, then place this bag inside another sandwich baggie.

Put the sandwich bags inside a gallon bag.

Add Ice and Rock Salt.

Place this bag inside your last gallon sized bag, seal it up good

Start Shaking, Shake for 15-20 minutes and it is done.

This is perfect for your children to burn some energy this Summer, and enjoy a great treat.

DIY: Magnetic Spice Rack

First off, I'd like to say that I love the idea of this. Wouldn't it be so much easier if you could store all of your spices somewhere out of the way? Now you can.

What you will need.

Mini Mason Jars or Baby Food Jars (you may know someone who will give them to you for FREE)

Chalkboard Paint

Chalk

Sheet Metal or an older baking sheet

magnets ( make sure to buy higher strength magnets) 

Drill

Instructions

-First glue your magnets to the bottom of your jars (use a strong glue for strength) 

 -Take the lids of your jars, take them outside and spray paint them with chalk board paint

-While these are drying, You can drill holes in the 4 corners of your metal piece. This project is perfect for attaching the metal with screws underneath or behind a cabinet. You can always opt out of this and put your jars in your cabinet or in a drawer.

- After your metal is attached, you can use your chalk to write the name of the spice on the top of the jar. After  your magnet is on strong and the jar is reassembled, stick your jars to your tray and think about what you will do with your free cabinet space.
