Items that you will need~
Polystyrene stars of all sizes
red, white and blue paint
Glue to brush on

Once the paint is dry brush paint onto each individual color (blue first, then red, then white, or which ever order you want to go in). Shake the glitter over the glue. Set aside to dry. Once it is dry, insert a hook into the top of the star and use a ribbon to hang it up.

small seashells that you have collected and cleaned

Instructions~
Dab glue on the rim of a shell and press it onto the Styrofoam ball. Keep adding shells in the same manner and layer them over the previous shells turning them in different directions if necessary. Continue until the entire ball is covered.

Materials Needed~
Paper plate
Construction Paper
Crayons, Markers, or Paint
Craft Glue
Scissors

Instructions~
First start out by painting or coloring the paper plate yellow. This will be be the sun's face. You can paint either side. Set it aside to dry if necessary. Trace 6 hand prints onto the yellow or orange construction paper then cut them out. Place a little bit of glue on the bottom edge of the palm of each hand print and the press them onto the edge of the non-painted side of the paper plate. Spread the hand prints out so they fit all around the paper plate, then let the glue dry. If you want to add a face to the sun you can do that as well. Either hang on the wall or attach it to a craft stick or dowel and use it as a puppet.

  • Insert pieces of styrofoam into the bottom of the can.
  •  Insert bouquet into the styrofoam, with stems cut to length so that you don't see any wires, or at least as few as possible.
  • Use the colored pencils to balance the bouquet by inserting them into the styrofoam.
  • You can make a beautiful base for the bouquet by glueing several plastic colorful plates together.

    Patriotic Poppies

Celebrate Memorial Day (also known as Poppy Day) by making crepe paper patriotic poppies. In addition to attending parades and festivals, celebrate this special holiday by doing fun Memorial Day crafts with the entire family.

    What You'll Need:

    Red crepe paper
    Green chenille stems
    Scissors
    Large needle
In the spring, red poppies bloom on European battlefields where thousands of soldiers died.
Many veteran's organizations sell poppies to earn money for disabled vets. You can make your own crepe paper poppies.
To make each poppy, cut out three 4-inch circles of red crepe paper.
Lay the circles on top of each other, and ask an adult to help you use a needle to make two holes next to each other in the center (go through all the circles).
Put the end of a chenille stem through one hole, bend the chenille stem, and bring the end down through the other hole.
Twist the end around the long part of the chenille stem to secure it.
Pull the crepe paper petals slightly away from each other to form the poppy.
Memorial Day is a special holiday to honor fallen soldiers who served their country. Also thank the others who have served and are still here to thank!
